About Clintonville
Clintonville is a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio that has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. The area was originally settled by farmers, who were attracted to the fertile land and plentiful water resources. In 1805, two brothers from New York, Clinton and Levi Black, purchased a large tract of land in the area and laid out a gridded street plan. The Blacks named the area Clintonville after themselves, and it quickly became a thriving community. Today, Clintonville is known for its eclectic mix of shops and businesses, as well as its vibrant arts scene. The neighborhood is next to Ohio State and is also home to several historic landmarks, including the Park of Roses, Whetstone Park amphitheater, and the Atrim Lake. Despite its urban setting, Clintonville has a small-town feel, and its residents are proud of their community spirit.
