Naboo Resort Restaurant Experience

I recently visited Naboo Resort, a wonderful restaurant in Rotan, Honduras. The food was amazing, and the staff was so friendly and hospitable! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rotan. If you’re looking for a delicious meal and some friendly conversation, Naboo is the place for you!

Where is Naboo Resort Located?

Naboo Resort is located in Roatan, specifically in West Bay. Naboo is a 5-minute walk from the beach. Roatan is an island off the coast of Honduras. It is known for its diving and snorkeling spots, as well as a plethora of other water activities. Roatan is also home to the Roatan Institute of Marine Sciences, which offers marine research and conservation programs. Naboo is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike who are looking to enjoy the beauty of Roatan. You’ll find the entrance to Naboo with a walkway signed “Naboo Resort”. Just through the walkway is the restaurant. You do not have to stay at the resort to eat there! However, if you do choose to stay at the hotel portion of Naboo, keep in mind it is for adults only.

Should you make Reservations?

A few full tables when we walked in

When we went to Naboo it was the middle of the week around 6 pm. We didn’t make any reservations, however, it was fairly busy. Most places to eat in West Bay are not busy during the week, though. Because of this, I would recommend you at least call if you’re going to be visiting the restaurant Fri-Sun. The website does not say to make reservations or provide a link to do so. If you’re anxious about not getting a table, go ahead and call the resort and they can help you out. The staff there is super friendly.

Initial Dining Experience

Spot the difference (Pepa and Bennett twinning)

Naboo is always a great place to go for dinner because the staff is so friendly. As soon as we walked in, the waiter welcomed us and showed us to our table. My grandpa is familiar with the staff there, and they were very friendly. They even brought us a complimentary bread basket while we waited for our food. As someone who loves bread (um–who doesn’t!?), I was super happy with the gesture.

“Don’t feel special, everyone gets a bread basket, Aaliyah,” my grandpa laughed. We didn’t get any drinks other than water (we were in need of it after a long day adventuring in Roatan), but they did have a huge bar at the entrance of the kitchen, offering a variety of mixed drinks. and we had a great time talking with the staff.

Overview of the Food at Naboo Resort

Below I will list in order the meals that my boyfriend, grandpa, and I got while visiting Naboo. Spoiler: they were all to die for. Also, you can check out Naboo’s menu on their website.

Red Snapper cooked in white wine

I got the Red Snapper cooked in white wine with rice and roasted vegetables. The Snapper was soft and buttery, which made it practically melt on my tongue. I am someone who likes a grilled fish to be more the consistency of chicken, but since this was cooked in the wine sauce it was flakier. The fish was great. I also really enjoyed their rice and vegetables. Who could go wrong with rice and veggies, though?

Seafood medley

Lobster, shrimp, veggies, and plantains.

Bennett, my boyfriend, got a seafood medley of some kind. It consisted of shrimp and lobster tail. He got a side of veggies and plantains. I obviously had to take a bite (for the blog, of course…). The lobster was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The plantains were definitely not the kind we are used to in the states. They were not the usual sweet, chip-like plantains. They were more toned down, and not my favorite. But I also don’t really like plantains anyways!

Homemade Seafood Pasta

Forgot to get a picture of the paste; so here’s one of the whole table! Wipe your mouth, pepa!

Lastly, my grandpa got an order of Naboos’ homemade Seafood Pasta. The noodles were completely house-made and were not imported. They were accompanied by a creamy red sauce, as well as shrimp. It was really, really good. If you’re craving comfort food, Naboos’ homemade pasta is a must.

A beautiful dining experience at Naboo Resort

Naboo Resort Pool
The only men in my life are both geeks, and I love it!

The silliest picture of the night: Bennett fighting with the wind to keep my hair in place.

The view when dining is gorgeous. With a lookout right to the huge pool and tons of nature, you’re sure to not think about picking your phone up once during dinner (unless to take pictures, of course). Better yet, at night time, the pool lights up! Who knew when it got dark out the resort still stayed beautiful. The pictures I took do not do it justice.

Overall, Naboo Resort is an absolutely stunning place. Not only is it a Roatan hotel with a modern twist in the decor, but it is also home to one of the best-hidden gem restaurants in all of West Bay Beach. My only wish is that they marketed the restaurant portion of the resort a bit better. If it weren’t for my grandpa, I would have never thought to go into the resort! I am definitely happy we found it.

Friendly Staff

Naboo restaurant review
Excellent service from our waiter, that’s why I’m cheesin’.

The staff at Naboo Resort and its restaurant are extremely friendly. Our waiter was very sweet and offered recommendations for the menu when I was stuck between two orders. Multiple staff members introduced themselves to us, made sure we had enough water at all times, and often checked on us to see if we needed anything. I was lucky to get a picture with our waiter, even though it was (obviously) super windy. He was kind enough to snap some shots of me and the boys, too!
